Vicky Mather is a multi-award-winning Filmmaker and course leader for MA Fashion, Film and Digital Production at London College of Fashion. Coming from a fine art background, Vicky worked in a range of creative departments within film crews, runner to costume assistant, prop construction, art department & stills, before gaining a scholarship to the National Film & Television School for a two-year MA in Animation Direction.
Her life-sized animated film ‘Stanley Pickle’ became the most awarded short film to come out of the NFTS in 2011 and Vicky was named a BAFTA Brit to watch and gained distribution through Amazon and iTunes. Vicky gained representation for Fashion Film, Music Videos and Commercials at Blink Productions where she worked for Lulu Guinness, then she went on to work for Aardman Animations and Mind’s Eye as well as gaining features representation from Curtis Brown in the UK and Anonymous Content in the US.
After a number of years investing time into pitching, developing scripts and directing fashion and commercial films, Vicky noticed a serious lack of mentors in the industry and decided to steer her career towards education. Since then, Vicky has taught filmmaking to a wide range of age groups and abilities as well as enriching educational experiences through her film network. Vicky has spent the past two years developing a new Master’s programme at the School of Media and Communication at London College of Fashion and is excited for her new students to start reshaping the fashion discourse through visual storytelling tools in a traditional sense of film production as well as contemporary emerging technologies in the XR realm.
